TGJV has been selected by San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and Caltrans – District 8 to design and build a replacement for the Mount Vernon Viaduct. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 covers Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in Southern California, which includes 49 incorporated cities. The largest Caltrans district, it covers approximately 28,650 square miles of land. There are four interstates and 32 state routes totaling 7,200 lane miles within the district’s boundaries.

Since 1922, Granite Construction Company has been constructing California highways, roads, and railroad projects and is an industry leader in delivering complex, fast-paced design-build projects. Of that, $2.6 billion has been in the State of California working in partnership with local agencies, transportation commissions and Caltrans. Additionally, Granite brings experience working in and around active rail operations, including BNSFs San Bernardino Intermodal Yard, where they recently completed construction of the Lytle Creek Bridge.

Successful delivery of the Mt. Vernon Project requires a lead designer and bridge expert with proven success on complex erection engineering and design-build grade separation projects. COWI North America, Inc., formerly known as Buckland & Taylor, Inc., has 45 years of experience designing bridge projects in North America and is an international leader in the design of grade separations and large design-build bridge projects. COWI has been a pioneer in alternative delivery bridge projects, having designed 30 bridges worth over $20 billion that were delivered through design-build procurement over the last 20 years.

CPM LOGISTICS (CPM) is a recognized industry expert in utilizing local, marginalized and disadvantaged communities. Located in the Bay Area, CPM has managed small business programs for projects such as the Cosumnes Bridge Replacement in Sacramento, the Hwy 101 Carpinteria to Santa Barbara project and the California High Speed Rail CP 2-3 project.
